Common Questions
What is baptism?
Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward change. When you go under the water, it symbolizes dying to your old self. When you come up, it represents rising to new life in Christ.
Who should be baptized?
Anyone who has made a personal decision to follow Jesus! Baptism is for believers of all ages who want to publicly declare their faith.
Do I need to be a member?
No! You do not need to be a member of Grace City Tampa to be baptized here. We just ask that you attend our baptism class beforehand.
What should I wear?
Wear dark colored clothing that you are comfortable getting wet in. We recommend a t-shirt and shorts. We will provide a towel and a change area.
Can my family watch?
Absolutely! We encourage you to invite family and friends to celebrate this special moment with you.
What if I was baptized as a baby?
Infant baptism is meaningful for many families. However, we practice believer's baptism, which is a personal decision to follow Jesus. Many people choose to be baptized again as an adult to make their own public declaration of faith.
